EUROPE’S fastest motor racing circuit will provide the unique traffic-free venue for a new 10-mile closed road race organised by leading sports event management company, SBR Events Limited.
The first Rockingham10 event is being staged at the Northamptonshire circuit on Sunday, November 9 and is open to all runners aged 18 and over. Gates open at 9am with the race starting at 10am.
Entry is £16 for England Athletics affiliated athletes or £18 for non-members, if booked online before 10am on Saturday, November 8. Participants will be able to register on the day up until 9.30am with places costing £20 and £22 respectively.
Competitors will complete three laps of the bespoke 3.30-mile course, a combination of the UK’s only banked oval and Rockingham’s infield section. Free from pot holes, the circuit provides a smooth, fast track perfect for shaving seconds off personal best times!
With the imposing Rockingham grandstands overlooking the track, the stunning venue is an inspiring and safe setting for athletes to train without having to worry about the usual hazards of running on a public road.
So whether looking for a new challenge, starting winter training or competing in a half/full marathon, this event is suitable for runners of all abilities. Spectators are welcome and will be able to show their support from the top of the pit garage roof.
All participants will receive a bespoke race medal as they cross the finish line, but with official event timing on the day, there will be an additional prize for both the fastest male and female competitors.
Water stations will be positioned regularly around the course, while race merchandise and official photographs will also be available along with the opportunity to have a post-event massage.
